Classic meets cozy mountain in this Salt Lake City home designed by Studio McGee. Natural materials and organic elements found in the dining room reflect the vernacular, bringing the outdoors in. In the guest room (seen in the leading image), a bolder approach was taken with a rust and blue color palette layered around the breathtaking views of the nearby mountains. Reflecting the surrounding Montana landscape, designer Kylee Shintaffer wanted to curate a space that went beyond the typical mountain house vernacular, so she combined rustic architectural elements with bold colors and an eclectic mix of furnishings for a look that feels fresh and glamorous. Reclaimed woods, locally sourced stone, and a neutral color palette weave throughout the European-inspired ski chalet. Here the mudroom is designed with lockers that provide storage for plenty of ski gear and all things warm and cozy. Designer Kim Romick of Into The West Design helped execute the vintage-yet-contemporary European ski lodge vibe of this Steamboat A-Frame cabin through crisp interiors with cozy moments using leather, velvet, wool plaids and fur.
